Let me go on a quick Star Wars rant. Star Wars is awesome. That being said, the original trilogy is slightly more awesome than the new trilogy. BUT the new trilogy is still awesome. SO many people bitch and groan about how the new trilogy doesn’t live up to the old and how lucas “ruined the franchise”. Oh yeah? You do better. Seriously, I want everyone who bitches about the new trilogy to re-write it. I can guarantee that yours will absolutely suck. You guys realize that Lucas invented Star Wars right? He can tell the story in any way he wants. Everybody wanted him to continue doing Star Wars and when he finally does everyone goes “oh fuck you”. YES I can agree that in the new movies some of the acting is spotty (Hayden Christiansen). But have you guys re-watched the old ones? Mark Hamill has some equally spotty acting moments (seriously re-watch A New Hope). The reason everyone loves the old Star Wars is because they saw it when they were kids. If those movies didn’t come out until now they honestly wouldn’t stand a chance. I believe that the new trilogy failed for the same reason that the new indiana jones failed. The movie industry has no place for over the top sci-fi adventures anymore. The industry has changed. Let’s take a look at the new Indiana Jones movie for instance, it is in NO way more ridiculous than any of the others and yet when it came out everyone was like “aliens?? wtf!!! SO NOT REALISTIC!!!!!”. It’s for the same reason I believe that if you were to release the new trilogy in the same time period as the old it would be accepted with great praise. None of the original Star Wars movies would have won an Oscar, so why would the new ones be any different you dicks.

Let’s re-cap: 

• Star Wars kicks ass.
• The new ones didn’t do as well because the movie industry is so different now.
• People need to stop bitching about EVERYTHING
• Hayden Christiansen sucks but then again I’m not a huge fan of Mark Hamill’s acting either.

All this to say I’m going to go see Episode I in 3D later and I’m really excited.
